Plumerias 2

These photos were either taken at Kham Tiang flower market or at the gardens of Royal Flora Ratchaphruek in Chiang Mai, Thailand. I just can not get enough of these.

Plumerias, or Frangipanis as they are also called, are some of the most fragrant and exotic collectable plants for many reasons. One thing really grinds my gears though and its that the darn camera cannot capture the true essence of these beautiful flowers, especially the deep reds. Now I'm  a huge fan of darks reds and am always frustrated when I cant even come close to capturing that deep color. Anyhoo, I have a little collection here in Thailand, some which have bloomed and some I'm still waiting for.

Hibiscus schizopetalus

Wow. I just cant say enough about this gem of a plant. For the landscape this treasure will please like no other. Its a fast and steady grower for your sunny spot where you want a specimen plant. This conversation piece looks great trained upright as a tree with its pendant flowers which are uniquely shredded on the edges of the recurved petals.

And for my Friend P'Dao, I would say this is a plant like no other and can easily be trimmed up after it gets to the height and size you like. The showers of flowers every day of the year is worth searching this one out for your garden.
